About Steven Hanson

Steven Hanson joined ReliabilityFirst (RF) in April 2026 as part of the Strategic Engagement team in the role of Energy Technical Writer. In this role, his primary responsibilities include report writing, website maintenance and content creation. Mr. Hanson works collaboratively across teams to support various RF products.

Mr. Hanson brings a decade of federal government experience, most recently serving in the NERC enforcement branch of the Division of Cyber Security in the Office of Electric Reliability at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Mr. Hanson joined FERC in March 2020 as an auditor in the Office of Enforcement. Prior to FERC, Mr. Hanson worked at the Energy Information Administration in the Office of Energy Analysis and Environmental Protection Agency in the EnergyStar program.

Mr. Hanson graduated from the College of William & Mary with an MPP in May 2011. He also holds a MS in Plant Biology and Conservation from Northwestern University (June 2011) and a BS in Biological Science from University of Wisconsin at Madison (May 2006).
